A fairly muddy ride but the most fun solo ride I’ve done so far. Met a whole different bunch of people.

First, Bob, I think his name was. Probably almost 70. He said maybe he’ll get an e-bike when he gets old.

Second, Jeff and his group as they were finishing their ride as I was just starting. I was waiting by the horse stable for them to pass. A little joking around then he goes, “I’ve seen you here before,” as he offers his fist, “Name’s Jeff,” as I take his fist bump offer and introduce myself.

Third, Luis, who last rode the Marshall Canyon trails 30 years ago, when it wasn’t as developed as it is now. We met up again at the bench then just rode together up to the gazebo.

Fourth, Jun, Chris, and their first-timer friend Vincent. Since I was riding solo, I was planning on just backtracking from the gazebo when Luis continued on. When I found out this small group planned to go down 3B, I asked if I can ride down with them. Stories and laughter almost non-stop going down until the tunnel, where they exited as I continued on.

Fifth, when I reached the end point, the gate was locked! I backtracked and told a small group of two elder ladies and a teen that the gate was locked, we exited together through the more technical trail, this time climbing up. Whew!

Now I need to find food.
